This plog will also exist on the new Mantic forums too. I'll keep both up to date.

I've got all 3 (so far) sets of Dwarf King's Hold from Mantic and one of my 2012 objectives was to get all the models painted up. I'm also going to mount them all on clear plastic bases which I had cut to order so that the board and counter details under the models are not obscured but the models still gain the stability of a base. I've got enough to do all the DKH sets and also Project Pandora when it arrives.

Here's my bag of bases

And with the protective cover off

The bases are exactly the right size for the squares on the tiles and work perfectly as you can see here

Here's all the Dwarf models and the mastiff assembled

The first quest/mission uses the fallen dwarf model to represent a tomb. I used some plasticard and a couple of spare bits from the frames to make a proper marker

Here's the finished tomb marker and mastiff

The paintjob on both of those looks great! Well done Matt.

A couple questions about the bases though. Does plastic glue work on them or did you use superglue? And am I understanding correctly that you special ordered them throught a plastics maker and not a hobby company?

I didn't try but I assumed plastic glue would not work so used superglue.

The bases came from a plastic manufacturer online. Lots of places did clear plastic cut to size but most were 50mm minimum cut. I eventually found one who went down to 25mm... thankfully!

Thanks for the compliments Smiley I think they've turned out really well.

Those skeletons look brilliant. How did you paint the bone? Did you dip them?

I was too lazy to dip stuff this time as I couldn't be bothered to wait for them to dry. Devlan mud wash all over. The bone is washed straight over the white undercoat. No extra highlights.
