Hi folks,
Just a quick message to say hello. Don't have any armies yet but the new Corporation models look like they might be more than enough to tempt me into getting one.
Looking forward to 'meeting' you all.
Cheers

Hi, And thanks for the welcome. I'm a 40k player at the moment and have been for a long time. Unfortunately it's becoming harder to justify spending money on the models.

Welcome! I think there are many of us who have the same experience with GW. Mantic solves the problem nicely and offers far more besides.

Hey there! If you're interested in the Corporation, make sure you're signed up to the newsletter, mantic will be showing more pics to subscribers fairly soon. I'm also planning a Corp army, although I think the Forgefathers are definitely looking good now that they've got the metal bits packs out and we know that there are 3 more kits planned/in production for them. I'm going to get both armies so I can do demos of Warpath.

Welcome mate! Always good to see a new face and even better to see someone interested in the Corp. I honestly Cannot wait for the models. I showed my gaming group last week and they all agreed they are some of the nicest human sci fi models they had seen Yeah sign up to the newsletter, we are ment to be getting some dossier on the Corp tomorrow.

Welcome aboard! I suspect that there will be more and more folks that drift towards Mantic as GW's prices get higher and Mantic's releases broaden. So far, Mantic's minis have managed to get me interested in sci-fi which is a pretty neat trick. Glad to have you, and I hope you enjoy the boards.

Glad to have you here!
Have you thought about giving the Warpath rules a try? Or are you thinking of Corporation minis strictly as 40K proxies?

Hi and welcome HG (we all seem to shorten names to 2 letters here, I notice). I've never really gotten into scifi gaming before, but I am steadily being pulled into Warpath, especially by the new Corporation models (they are absolutely stunning up close). With free rules, open discourse between Mantic and their rapidly growing customer base and some great prices, you've picked a great time to get into the Mantic hobby. Look forward to seeing your armies in the future. Cheers JP

Hey JP! DZ here. Slightly offtopic, but since you did mention it... Were the minis you handled the preproduction sculpts? Or were they restic pieces? Did the guns still appear to have that slight bend in the barrels? Any other thoughts or insights from handling them that you'd care to share? Did you get to see anything that wasn't already shown, like the concept art for the 8th race? Inquiring minds want to know.

Hi DZ All I can say is they were bloody gorgeous models. As to what else I may or may not have seen, my lips are sealed No, seriously... they sewed them shut with the still bloodied nerve-fibres of the last person who tried to talk about the 8th race - WE DON'T TALK ABOUT THE 8TH RACE!!! - or anything else that got the saliva glands leaking. I think they're taking a few pointers from GW regarding clamping down on leaks as it's so obviously a great way to market and seems to be working for them - but I think the actual clamps were a bit excessive I'm sure all will be revealed later when the Corp Dossier comes out

Thanks for all the replies.
I'll certainly look up the newsletter and I will be looking to play. Had a good read at the rules and they seem straightforward enough, so once I do take the plunge I'll be looking for somewhere to play. I'm looking forward to seeing the models in the 'flesh' and getting my paint brushes out in anger. I've been aware of Mantic for a while but as I was never really into WFB the fantasy ranges never interested me.
Steam punk Sci Fi on the other hand? Now that floats my boat.
Cheers
