I couldn't wait for Mantics Corporation release, so my first foray into collecting SciFi mini's are these two Nova Corp mini's that Reaper puts out.

I just received them today, as I had ordered them after seeing Mantics concept art for their Corporation, but before I had seen the pics of their sculpts.

Over all, these look like a pretty fair match to Mantics line. Reapers are probably too expensive to make whole units out of, but I think they'd work as additional character figures. There are a few more mini's available in the Nova Corp line as well.

For shame Darsc, for shame.

Personally I don't like them as much at all. How much were they?
I mean, they look alright, but I much prefer the asthetic of the minis I've seen for the corp. But as you said... you hadn't seen them yet.

$5.99 US each. But I have to admit one of the reasons I bought them was to fill out my order for a promotion that Reaper was having prior to Christmas. I essentially got these and a bottle of paint for free.

They're actually not too bad. Stylistically the army looks more modern, made up of molded pieces, where as the Mantic Corp armour appears to be made up of cloth and attached plates. Both lines have a similar level of detail. I'm wondering sizewise how the two lines will measure up.

Like you though, based on the pics my preference is towards Mantics Corp, although I still think these will work as character figs.

Whenever I get frustrated with the stuff on my gaming table, I always get a Reaper fig to work on.  It's nice to do a pewter piece that doesn't take days to file and a thimblefull of GS.  I prefer white metal, but a lot of "game" companies can't cast pewter to a decent standard (Mantic included).

I bought these guys for some sci-fi RPG play.  They're solid.  Reaper has always been good for individual models for your characters for fantasy and their Chronoscope line is really varied.  I got some zombie hunters and every time I'm in the local store, I get tempted by the zombie with a chainsaw.
