Odd question I know. But I have access to a laser engraving machine. So I think I will use it to make up a bunch of cool looking damage markers.

General idea, two round bits of wood/2-ply laminate. One of these has a chunk missing. The other has a bunch of numbers on it. Pin these together and you have a spinner damage marker thing for your units. Should be large enough to stick a flocked area with a corpse or two or a damaged looking fellow on top.

Any ideas? I only have a limited experience with the game so I don't know for certain whether I can safely have them just run up to 10 or if I'm likely to need to take them all the way to 20. Or some other number.

would you be best doing 0-9 in two colours for tens/units?

do units get automatically taken off if they hit their nerve? or can you get insane courage snake-eyes?

I'm currently planning on using d20s..

Snake-eyes keeps the unit on the table, so theoretically you can stay around forever.  I had a regiment of Ironclads that got to 21 damage a couple weekends back because my opponent was miserable at rolling Nerve tests.  (Snake-eyes, twice.)

I had something like this when my opponents Prince was up to 30 damage (a lot of snake eyes rolled) before I managed to get him off the board
