Just read your Warseer post about all the suppliers signing up to the Tabletop Nation thingy... looks like you might have dodged a bullet with this one?

I think so. But still gutted about it. Have deleted that Warseer post thought - I can see the ***tstorm it might create so took it down.

Really annoying though - an initiative set up to 'help' the hobby industry had the complete opposite effect in that it forced me to abandon plans due to excessive competition.

That could be the overall plan, then inner cynic in me whispers in her bourbon breath. Wink

So what is the Tabletop Nation?  I've seen a few topics about it but...

Starting to look like some sort of pyramid marketing/dropshipper scheme.

It looks like a weird combination of a news service, a distributor, an event organization forum and a wargaming information database all rolled into one.

I missed JP's post over on Warseer, so if you want to repost here please go ahead.

I've already expressed my concerns about Tabletop Nation over on Warseers thread.

http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=327181

Really, more information is needed about what the plans are for TTN, but as those involved have stated they aren't sure themselves, I think a bit, or a lot, of concern is certainly valid.

And the store is back!

Thanks to Emily over at OTL, we can go ahead with the online store after all, stocking primarily Brushfire exclusively here in the UK.

The website is back up and running and the very basic webstore is open to browse with just a few products to give you an idea. The rest of the range should be added by the end of the week and come Christmas Day I am hoping we can start taking orders.

http://crystalgamesstore.wordpress.com for the website where we will be hosting a wealth of Brushfire themed articles: painting, gaming and modelling, as well as organise local tournaments, demo games and more.

http://crystalgamesstore.bigcartel.com to buy Brushfire in the UK.

This is a UK ONLY webstore. We won't be shipping anywhere else except within the United Kingdom.

Again, thanks to Emily for re-igniting the flames of this venture. Smiley

I'll just say that I started out with a vaguely bad feeling about TTN, and was satisfied with the answers from Warren, despite the small pissing contest.

I will also say that seeing which side our favorite John Astin impersonator fell on made me less worried about TTN.

Hearing that Brushfire will be alive in the UK through JP is a nice bit of news. Smiley

Glad the dream has renewed itself JP.  If you were doing US business, I'd put in an order to help you out.  Curious to see what BF is like.

As for TTN, I don't have a Warseer account and have no plans to join just for the one discussion.  I saw in one reply that "rich" doesn't categorize himself as a businessman.  I would have to agree.  Most businesspeople are smart enough to not let themselves look like a complete jerk on a public forum.

The only product I see sales being boosted by Tabletop Nation is tinfoil hats... Roll Eyes

Hi Frogimus. We have decided that if people really want to order from us they can but you will have to send us an email with your order. Just follow the links on the site and we'll see what we can do Smiley
