Right, originally I'd planned on using the Mantic dwarfs for playing Goldhammer, but with the advent of the ruleset, this will probably change.  So, for the first time in my life, I'm gonna try and get a fully painted fantasy type army sorted out, hell, it's only taken me 20 years to get this far...

Dwarfs it is then, and a pretty big pile of them.

Completed

20 Ironclads with full command, hand weapon, shield.
20 Ironclads with full command, hand weapon, shield.
20 Ironclads with full command, two handed hammer.
20 Ironclads with full command, two handed hammer, shield.
20 Ironwatch with full command, rifles.
20 Ironwatch with full command, crossbows.
2 Leadbelcher Cannons plus Crew
2 Leadbelcher Organ Gun plus Crew
1 Flamebelcher Cannon plus Crew
Dwarf King
Dwarf Berserker Lord
Warsmith
Army Standard Bearer

On the paintstation

Top Secret

Under Construction

20 Ironwatch with full command, crossbows.
5 Ironguard with full command, hand weapon, shield.
10 Berserkers with full command.

Still in the boxes

160 Ironclads
100 Ironwatch
4 Ironbelchers and 8 Crew
1 Flame Belcher and 2 Crew
30 Berserkers
King's Counsel (4)
5 Ironguard with full command, hand weapon, shield.
lots and lots of warmachine sprues.  seriously, 20 or more.
3 Dwarf Engineers

On pre-order or in transit

25 Ironclads
20 Ironwatch
1 Leadbelcher and crew.

This is gonna be a long slog.  I'm planning on painting all the elements of the army deal up first, followed by bulking the Ironguard and Berserkers up to units of 20.  I'm also planning a few conversions for heroes and warmachines, although, I might have to stray outside of the Mantic range.  Also, when the new plastic kit is announced, I'll be picking up a few of them...

Well, for anyone from Warseer, or at the Open Day, these won't be new, but I managed to get the army seriously underway.

King

Berserker Lord

Warsmith

Army Standard  - the beard keeps chipping despite being repainted and revarnished...

Full Army Shot (as on display at the request of a certain Mr Renton  Grin )

Next up, err, I dunno...  Probably some Berserkers, the Ironguard, another Warsmith or 3, and as many Cannons as I can legally fit into the army.  Plus a few converted Bolt Throwers/Catapults.

Your Dwarven Characters are looking nice.  Now we just need some close up shots of the other units!  Smiley

Argh!  You really want me to ruin the impression of a good looking army with Macro photography?   Wink

I will try and get better pictures once I get a day off, or the next time I'm at my local club.

My photo-fu really is shite though.

Those Dwarfs look epic. I would most like to one day face across the table at them.

And yes, unit pics would be brilliant!

I have noticed that you dont seem to use movement trays for your army. Is this something you plan on implementing?
If so I'm keen to see how you go about them. I use the GW modular trays which work pretty darn well.

Cheers dude.  If you ever make it to a Mantic Open Day, you may just get your wish.

I have a set of the new modular trays lying about, as well as a bunch of the old style trays, but the problem is that, to spend time texturing and painting trays is just boring when I could be churning out more minis.  Plus, they always seem to fall apart in the case...

Yeah, would be great to get to an open day but unfortunately imm all the way over here in Australia. Still I have always wanted to go and visit your country so who knows!

Hmm... your movement trays fall apart?
Or the texturing that goes onto them?

The texturing.  I'm forever digging out sand and grass from cases.

I was thinking about just doing some basic plasticard and L shaped plastic stripping, but I think it would cheapen the look of the army.

There must be a way of getting pre-textured resin movement trays.

What about greenstuffing a cool looking texture?
Actually I think there is a company that makes movement trays with decorative edging. I believe one of the textures was a sort of celtic looking knot rune going around it. Might suit a dwarf army?

I'll see if I can find a link.

These look great. I too would like to see a close up of the rest of the units as I am just starting to assemble my own dwarf army.
