But we can't be forgetting the opposition (and when I say opposition - I mean my warband!)

Tomorrows article is all about painting Brushfire warbands the Army Painter way

Hey there JP.

You appear to be getting all your Brushfire minis painted very quickly, but are those minis in your photos still works in progress?

I ask because while the uniforms and accessories are nicely painted, and you've done a very good job on their bases, the animals themselves appear to be unfinished. ie No eyes painted, no hilights, shading, or colour variance on the fur, no change in colour on the animals exposed skin etc.

This is not meant as a criticism, I'm just genuinely curious as I think your minis would benefit greatly from this added level of detailing.

Cheers.

These are just at the "lets get gaming" level: meaning undercoat/basecoat/dip/antivarnish/based. After a few games I can go back at leisure and do all the detail work as you say. This is what I refer to as my tabletop standard. Before I'd try and do everything before gaming with them (I hate gaming with unpainted minis) and so hardly ever played LOL

EDIT: if you look at the Mare-Civitas again, some of those have already started having the next level added to them - the minis are just too nice to keep waiting too long for the next stage Wink

As part of my Brushfire week, I've written today about how I go about painting my models:
