Hi all, I just picked up 10 of the restic wraiths and was wondering how people painted them.
I am leaning towards painting them in a simmilar way to my skelies (same as the mantic colours) but I do have a soft spot for etherial looking undead.

So I suppose really my question is how would you guys go about painting ethril looking undead... but with colours (as opposed to washed out greens or blues.

Also feel free to post piccys of your painted wraiths for everybody to view Cheesy

How do you make something look ethereal without using a green/blue wash?

I could post a pic of my unit, which is a fully ethereal unit, if you like.

Here's some pics of my two units of Wraiths (used either flank alongside a troop of Rev Cav).

They were painted very simply:
1. blue robes,
2. flesh/grey mix for the face, hands
3. mottled silver/golds for the armour
4. Red for the plumes
5. dipped in Army Painter strong tone, then a blast of anti-shine matt varnish

That was what I was wondering?

Thinking of trying really washed out colours with a white highlight but I suspecct it might just come out as a pastle sort of colour.

I guess i am looking to achieve a transparent look but with a hint of colour.

Thanks for the piccys JP, if the above isnt forth coming I suspect I will be looking to use a scheam like yours, simple and quick with ready to use results Grin.

keep them coming guys.
