Well after buying the Dark Horizons issue of Wargames Illustrated I decided to have a go at painting the free Mantic Ghoul sprue that came with it with a view to a possible Undead Army in the future.

One done last night in a quick fashion to see how it turned out.  I'd want to add a bit of gore but dont have the stuff to do it yet.  Be good to hear your thoughts...

I'm not seeing any image here.

I used washes almost exclusively when painting my ghouls, and it seemed to work fairly well. How did you do yours?

Strange? The 2 images are showing up fine for me.

They're linked through Photbucket - is there a better way to show them?

I spray primed it black, top dusted it with White Primer for highlight. Painted the skin with Rotting Flesh, cloth painted with Catchan Green and then washed with Devlan Mud.

Midtoness with original colours and a then a mix of the 2 for dry brushed highlights on the cloth and eyes painted Necrotite Green with a White highlight.

Really quick and quite happy with how it came out.

Suddenly working. I'm guessing that it was just a loading issue.
They look great.
Did you highlight the eyes to add effect, or is that one coat? They look particularly good, and I'd like to copy them if I can pull it off as mine didn't work as well.

Thanks orcsbain & Bert  Smiley

They eyes are one coat of P3 Necrotite Green with a tiny spot of Skull White as a highlight.

I'll try and get a close up pic for you.

Looking good!! I agree with Kairob, it's all about the eyes- that's why such the drab colourscheme works so effectively- it allows the eyes to (literally and figuratively) shine through!!
