I just found out that Zac is selling his TableTop Gaming News site to the Cool Mini or Not group.

Very sad to hear this, as Zac is a very nice guy and his news site is my favourite for learning about miniatures and accessories from all the different companies out there. As he's leaving to spend more time with his young family, I can't say I blame him.

Not too sure how I feel about Cool Mini or Not taking over though. Don't know too much about them, other than that they were a miniature painting review site that started to sell miniatures.

Sometimes, stealing candy from babies is the only way to find good candy.

As long as they remain impartial and realise that the primary value of the site comes from it's evenness and lack of bias it should be okay.

I'm well aware of CMoN, have been browsing it for the last 10 years or so. It has definitely become more commercialised in recent years, and I would not be surprised to see the ads removed in favour of the CMoN eBay ads that they run on their site.

You don't buy a website and commit to updating it without a good return on investment, so they will definitely be looking to do that.

I just hope they don't take it further and start affecting non-ad parts of the site. Perma-stickies for dark age and their new modelling products, combined with being picky about the companies they accept news from would be the kind of thing I'd hate to see.

I'd also really hate video news, too many opinion pieces, tactics articles etc. or anything else other than the current text + images in a nice long scrollable page format.
