Hi all

These are the dwarfs that I have painted so far.

With these I tried to use the army painter quickshade.

Those are some really nice looking Dwarfs.

I use the quickshade method too... I'm all for getting the models painted quickly to a decent tabletop standard and into battles fast. Nice neat flat colours then a quick dip... sorted.

I've posted a few pics over on my site of Elves and Dwarfs so far but am waiting now till I get a better camera than the Blackberry one I've been using before I post any of the Undead, Orcs and Twilight Kin.

Look forward to seeing more of your armies though. Cheers for posting.  Smiley

I think your dwarves and mine would look like a natural allied force if they ever met.

Had it not been for losing power on Saturday afternoon, I'd probably be posting a full army tomorrow.  As it stands, I've lost about 15 hours of painting time due to stoopid, stoopid storms.  Maybe power will be back on tomorrow.

Nice colour scheme!

Have you thought about some shield emblems to finish the ironclads off? Would be a really worthwhile way of finishing them off, I think.

Yeah, what he said.  It will definately add a huge amount to the look of your, very nice, models with not a lot of effort.

I'm still in search of a emblem for my dwarf clan. Some days I sit in front of a drawing paper, but do not quite find anything I like. It has to be quick and easy to paint or print on transfer sheets. I have time even to think and find the emblem.

The same thing happens to me with my berserkers, still not sure to sculpt a kilts to become  them to Scottish Berserkers. It is a question I have since I first saw these models. Grin

One question: someone know a easy way to make quickshade at home? I really like the ideia, as i dont understand higlight principles (its sad i know), but living in Brazil it is hard to aquire those products  Lips sealed

Do you have any access to Minwax products in Brazil?  If so, their tinted waterborne polyurethanes should serve pretty well.  If not, it's going to be trickier, since tinting polyurethane from scratch requires a bit of information on tints and how to use them.

Just to clarify, Minwax is a brandname for a wood stain product that you might find in your local hardware or home improvement stores.

I think that choosing the correct color of the wood varnish can be used exactly the same.

Now I'm painting another ten ironclads to complete a regiment, I hope to finish tonight ... have them ready for his bath in quickshade (hehehehe). As I have so many unpainted miniatures, through my blog I organized a weekly challenges to force myself to paint. And this week playing dwarves. If tomorrow I have already these dwarves with the quickshade coat, instead painting Marines as the next challenge, I will continue with ten ironwatch... with rifles.

Short answer is yes.

Also make sure you get a waterbased varnish, and DON'T use your good brushes to apply.

Yes... bad fumes :-P

And... as Darsc says a waterbased varnish is better.

I tried some woodstain dipping on some genestealers a few years ago. See here: http://www.ageofstrife.com/topic1005.html
