well, "The Corporation". A greedy galaxy spanning company with more guns, money and ambition than any government. They met the Forgefathers, saw they had superior tech and started trading. They met the Orx, saw they were supid and violent. they tried to wipe them out and couldn't, so they armed them, pointed them at a dangerous enemy and let them go. Unfortunatly, the Orx were clever enough to realise that their new aquired weapons would work equally as well against anyone they pointed them at. Giving us the Marauders and themselves a self-created pain in the arse. So how do we think (or know) they are going to perform game-wise? We have seen the concept art so we have a rough idea of how they will look (starship imperial trooper guard), but how will they play? basic troops in units of 10, 20 or 30 is a given i think. their tech level is supposed to be above Orx but below Forgefathers, so do we think laser weapons? (i would think so, just in case you wanted to use them for another game) some of the artwork shows chainsaw blades as bayonets. that would be awesome. i'm wondering if that or laser swords would be their special melee weapon? it's been hinted by alessio in interviews that there might be some "Elite Star Commandos" (cant think what they might look like ) the hummer vehicle idea is cool, but i want tanks!!!!!! I'm really looking forward to seeing some more Corporation stuff. What do you guys think about it?

I'm suspecting a heavy dose of Imperial Guard player appeal. So very much like them I'd guess. Maybe some better weapons in the basic troops but certainly the ability to go all infantry or all tank (and of course a healthy mixed mechanised force). Bascially they'll be the all-rounders.

I'd like to see them follow the pattern of basic troopers and heavy weapon teams for their first 2 plastic kits.
Wargames factory took the right approach to releasing alt imperial guard even if the sculpts are of dubious quality. I expect the mantic models will be much better, and hopefully also cheaper, the WGF models are not exactly what I would call budget at nearly £1 per figure.

WGF's shock troopers are much more "budget" than GW's though, which are roughly twice the price. Or you could wait for Prince August/Target Games to have a sale and buy 160 of these guys http://www.princeaugust.ie/target_games/tg2420-1.html for $45 like I did. Now I desperately need Mantic to release Corporation models so I can have a little variety, some heroes and vehicles, etc.

Hi all! So my friend and I were talking and we were trying to guess whether Mantic really is just inspired by the amazing age of British Colonialism, or if the Corporation is a dig at GW's mighty empire? Probably both? But does that make Mantic the Rebels?
Or is Mantic the secret 8th race? Nyah ha ha! If they are, what will they be like?
I keep singing an old cartoon song in my head...
HE-MAN-TIC!
...and the MASTERS of the UNIVERSE!!!
I think the Corporation is going to rely mostly on long range weaponry as space is full of people stronger than they are or more insanely into close combat for gratification. So I expect them to have weaker long range rifles mostly and some nice long range missiles. And lots of tanks. Close combat? What? Touch a xeno? How...barbaric!

Well, the Corporation will need some sort of CC specialist unit, seeing as the Marauders have taken leave of their shackles.
Beyond that, I'm thinking Tau-esque, lots of high strength long range firepower.

I'm thinking (hoping) the Corporation are similar in style to the Alliance in Firefly/Serenity; their greedy hands in every pie in the galaxy, using all the resources at their whim to do their bidding. Macro-Cannons from Verisima IV or platoons of Greensmen from Cantor. Skimmer-vims armed with sonic blasters and Screamers that seek out living bodies before detonating, leaving only the bloodied carcass of their fallen enemies to be mopped up. Greed fires them and yet also blinds them.

i got a whole army of guardsmen(and 3 more unfinished armies) ready to give it a go.
as long as i can use most of the models it would be great.
from whay little i know of the corporation, it might be an idea to include either an alien race or some form of sub human for it's close combat ability, as modern armies tend more to shooting you then fighting in combat, though they are able to.
just my thoughts

It would be interesting to see a "local auxillary" type unit available.
Honestly, I'm expecting them to either be "elite" or to be the "baseline" of the game in many ways. Speed 5, Hit 4+, FP 8/16/32, Range 24, Attack 5/10/20. Defense and Nerve are where it will change and matter. Def 4 makes sense as a "basic guy" idea, but I prefer 5 personally (though that puts em with the FFs for basic Defense). Nerve is the same way.
I see them as a "Peace (and Profit!) through Superior Firepower!" group.
Definitely will be IG analogs though, but kinda also hope "Generic Sci-Fi military humans".
