I made this unit before the shieldbreakers were announced, so they were the only option at the time (and I needed them for WFB immediately).

I'd already seriously reduced my GW buying in favour of mantic, but now it's total.
I'll get one last order from Maelstrom for a few things I still want, but that's the end.

I would love something with a dark fantasy feel.  Really gritty, maybe a little OTT, but nothing like the Evil Empire of Gaming's SKULZZ everywhere.
Something that is not historical, but could have come out of any of those fanstasy epic series. 
Something which could be either good or evil.

I think of all of those early hero miniatures from the 80's (from many copanies) and think "What is the army like where they come from?" or "what would an army made up entirely of these types be like?"

I'd really say ditch the historical, get far away from that Germanic pseudo-historical stuff and give us something new and really interesting.
They can still be easily used as replacements for that 'other game', guys with spears, guys with crossbows, guys with double handed swords, etc.

Here are the Dwarves with 2-handed weapons that I made from the standard sprues.  Took a bit to get them to rank up, but it wasn't too bad.

That's great news WorkbenchManiac! I really like the pics we've seen of the sculpt. And another dwarf character is always appreciated.

Oh, I've been painting - I did 30 goblin archers from the 4th edition WFB box set the other night.  Only took me about 20 years to get to them.

Finally made my way over from the Warseer Boards (and Chamber of Kings).

I've been playing WFB for over 20 years now, and have played virtually all of the other GW games released during that period.
Got into Mantic right from the start and I have fairly large: elf, undead, dwarf and abyssal dwarf armies.

Almost all of which are still unpainted.

Speaking of... I finally found my way here.
