Sorry for the delay.  This old forum has pretty much fallen into disuse.  It used to be a refuge for those times when needed, but Mantic has really upped their own forum support, and the various Facebook groups allow for a great deal of fandom.

There probably are, but you'll likely have better luck reaching them through the official Mantic forum.  Which you can find here...http://forum.manticblog.com/forum.php

This place was originally a bastion of the early adopters, like myself, but it has fallen into disuse.

With the advent of Mantic's official forums, this place has become a bit of a ghost town.  You'd probably be better served by going to http://forum.manticblog.com/forum.php and checking there.

I'll have to check that out when I finally get time.  Once in a while I get a few minutes and keep glancing at the army section of the book, and thinking of at least 4 or 5 armies for each race that I want to try out.

Bob?

Has he done anything?

At the very least, completely unreal.

Having finally gone and *looked* at the Banelegions line...wow.  Thanks for reinforcing every stereotype of gamers, Maelstrom!

But the joke still stands.

But we can also agree that the Banelegions chicks are horribly beautifully over inflated. Wink

Fixed that for you.  Wink

I was under the impression "she" rather than "he", either way they're an equal opportunities modeller, you can find them doing the same for other companies models too. Wink

I think not.  Most women aren't as obsessed with their ideal physical feminine form on a female miniature.  And most of them seem to grasp that there are women with variously sized breasts.

Judgedoug --

This is not an official Mantic forum.  It's an open forum, but it is, by and large, moderated by and used by people who have had a long experience with Mantic.  This is where people come to talk about stuff frankly and openly, and not clutter up Mantic's official forum with certain opinions or positions.

This forum is not designed as a cuddly-hug for new fans.

It's very much a "wadded-panty-free" zone.

You're new to Mantic, and Mantic is thrilled to have you, and you're welcome to post here.  But if you do, you have to do it with the understanding that this particular forum is oriented more towards Mantic vets.  For instance, I've been following Mantic  since approximately Summer 2009.  (Probably somewhere between May and July, but I can't really pin it down precisely now.)  For the record, that was before they even attended their first Gen Con.  Other are of similar vintage, although some are newer.

So enjoy your stay, but realize this isn't like wandering into the Mantic clubhouse -- it's more like wandering into a bar and hearing a group of guys talking about Mantic over their shots and pints.

And also ranting about people ranting about why no-one has received their kickstarter stuff yet, only two days after the Kickstarter survey deadline.

Oh, was I ranting? I thought I was posting if anyone had received their KS stuff yet, in an effort to gauge when people DID start receiving it, when Mantic was shipping certain pledge levels, etc. Maybe it's too much to be excited about, well, being excited about miniatures wargaming again?

Good thing I dropped by this forum. Was hoping to see some of the 'Mantic Fanatics' offer tactical advice or indepth knowledge of Mantic related stuff. Instead it's a wall of ****ing.

Guess what. Mantic just got a thousand plus new fans through KS, all internet-savvy and probably all descending on the forums. These are the people that just gave Mantic a third of a million dollars to produce their next three years worth of releases in the next few months.

So, yeah guys, it makes a lot more sense to **** about new people being excited for great figs and great rules than to help acclimate them to the hobby. OMG I R SO UPSET PEEPUL ON FORUM ASKIN QUERSTIONS ABOUT MINIS N RULEZ AFTER DEY JUS GAVE MANTIC FIVE HUNNERT DOLLARZ

Darsc has nailed it.

Popularity brings more whiners.  And whiners, much like fans, tend to post more than the average joe.  Throw in a healthy dose of people expecting KoW and Mantic to just be GW but cheaper, and you have a prescription for annoyance.

This is a refuge where we can share our opinions -- and the benefit is that most of the folks on here have proven a fondness for Mantic.  So if they don't glow about something, at least you can believe it may be a measured and thought-out disagreement.

I'm still clueless about what AH actually expects.  I'ms starting to honestly think he believes he should be their designer and they should just make whatever he wants, regardless of anyone else's opinion.

I had help keeping mine low: we're dumping all of our money into our business.

I smuggled a bit out.

Woot!  Finally I'm above average on something other than weight! Wink

Yeah...I wasn't even close.  I'm glad to see this much enthusiasm for Mantic, and I'll end up with a whack of new toys out of it.  Still bugs me being that far off.

It's too bad we didn't have a "Will AlexHolker approve of anything in the Kickstarter" bet running.

Not that I'll get to Edinburgh anytime soon, but you should throw some pics up once you have some.  It's always nice to hear about new dedicated gaming spaces.
