I can totally get down with this. I was actually considering using one of my RPG rulesets here and throwing players into the KoW setting but even better is to give your rules a bash!
Wow, thanks! But remember: Totally unplaytested, and not completed.

The KoW game inspired me to create simple PnP RPG ruleset I have dubbed "Kings of Dungeons". It's loosely based on the concepts, gameworld and game mechanics of KoW. It's currently in "Alpha", so is incomplete, but I thought it might be interesting enough to some of you to gather some comments and criticism. It's around 13 pages long with 6-7 pages of actual rules, with the rest of the document being taken up by monsters and pre-made characters, so it's not particularly complicated while still being comprehensive enough to cover things like poison, disease, starvation etc. A warning: it hasn't been playtested yet, so there are bound to be some glaring inconsistencies, errors, and balance issues. You can download it from my public dropbox at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6215079/KoDA010.pdf. Thanks!

General Category / General Discussion / What on earth happened to the Wraiths?

It may be just for us Yanks, but it seems like Undead wraiths have been taken down from the site. Disappointing, because those were some of my favorites models. I can't really find anything about it. Anyone know what's happening? (maybe they're busy making plastic wraiths?)

For sci-fi battles I've never really liked the 24mm scale, since to have a good sci-fi game you need plenty of room for artillery bombardments, massive tank engagements, and strafing aircraft IMO, and for me there's just not enough room on the table for that. But it would be nice to actually have *cheap* Imperial Guard for once. I'm crossing my fingers for a Death Korp of Krieg clone.

Hi (this is my first post, btw... greetings everyone) I believe Beasts of War did an interview with Mantic where they talked about the world of Kings of War (too lazy to find the link, sorry). Basically, the idea is that the world is populated by many, many petty kingdoms (see a map of dark age Britain) where different tiny kingdoms wage war against each other (hence, Kings of War). It's a good concept, since it allows for a lot of inter-faction conflict and for people to make their own armies full of flavor and such. I also believe there was a map of part of a continent in Mantic mag 2. Basically, there's a ton of "blank space" that's going to be filled in by Mantic as they release new stuff and, as someone who is a fan of flavor if not elaborate mythologies, so I like the minimalistic approach they have taken so far. The latest Orc background, while I like the return to the classic "Orcs as minions of EVIL" concept I'm not such a fan of the mythology they've invented, and hope they keep that stuff either to the background or as vague as possible.
