Thanks for this. I'm going to try some of these ideas when my Starter Set gets here today. From the pix I've seen online, I really like the Forge Fathers, but these techniques will help to add variety and character to my units.

Maxie here, I just found this forum after looking at gaarew's painted figures on Warseer. I love Mantic's miniatures - I have the Elf army box along with the King's Court and my copy of Fate of the Forge Star should be here tomorrow. 

I love painting and gaming with toy soldiers and Warpath looks like it will re-kindle the fun I had with 2nd Edition 40K.
