Hey there, and welcome to the Fanatics!!

I agree with gaarew. Going with the previous suggestion of having one to cover each of the main battlefield ares ie. R Flank, L Flank and Centre, I'd probably have the Liche King skulk behind the main battleline in the centre, supported by the Neccies on either flank.

I run a similar set up, but utilise the Vamp on Pegasus instead of the Liche King, allowing me some combat ability to back up the central line, whilst the Human Thralls/Zombies/Necromancer power up one flank, and the Soul Reaver led Ghoul/Necromancer trio power up and smash through the other, meeting in the centre for an **** of blood!

or something like that Wink

For what it's worth, I'm one of the UK Pathfinders (as you probably all have realised by now if you read the Blog!) and so is Stewart Gibbs (although I have no idea who he is apparent way of contacting him!)

I'll email Ken and ask if there's a way of contacting the other Pathfinders.

Got demo stuff here being readied for Launch Party- and already starting to discuss demo events with indie stores, probably roll the first one out in Hereford early next year Wink

26  Warpath / General Warpath Discussion / Re: Starting an army ahead of the rules? on: October 19, 2011, 06:06:00 pm
Must admit, I'm going to wait until the Rebs models are released for the main body of my army- until then I'll probably field a GW/Mantic Marauder army, then when the Rebs are out, dump the 40k Orks and attach the Mantic Marauders to the Rebs Wink
27  Warpath / General Warpath Discussion / Re: GW vs. Mantic, hypothetical cost comparison on: October 19, 2011, 06:02:22 pm
I didn't even think GW allowed other companies models in their tournaments? Your rulebooks costs could be the least of the problems there! Wink
28  Warpath / General Warpath Discussion / Re: So what have you ordered? on: August 30, 2011, 02:10:10 pm
I'm going to be dull and boring and bring this back to topic:- (no wait guys, put the stones down!)

Clearly, the need for a sci fi game I think comes from the market research evidence that youngsters prefer the idea of guns and big explosions and alien battles etc. ie what they can get from 40k which, whether we like it or not, is still arguably the most popular and successful tabletop wargame at the moment. The success of KoW models being used for WHB, and then with the KoW rules in their own right has shown Mantic that the same could potentially happen within the sci fi genre- hence Warpath.

That said, there will always be us die harrd grizzlies who prefer Fantasy genres, as that's what we grew up with, and started with (do take note most of us, with a few notable exceptions, are all of a similar 25+ age range) and will always prefer a large scale mass miniature strategic tablteop wargame.

That said- I will be getting my hands on some Marauder Orx in preparation for my Reb/Marauder army- but thanks to the tournament and my wife and daughter's various trips up to Glasgow to see gigs, added to the fact we JUST found an awesome tattoo studio in Shrewsbury, and both my wife and I have some serious inking that needs doing- it probably won't be until the new year before I can get any Warpath. Might spring for the 49.99 Warpath box later this year, though.

And what does it say about the whole **** thing, if we're discussing buying it from a company that makes miniatures  of stuff?  Wink  Tongue  Roll Eyes Grin
29  Painting & Modelling / Conversion Corner / Re: Restic Problems? on: August 30, 2011, 01:50:35 pm
For what it's worth, yes, there do seem to be only a couple of set poses, (a goes with a, b goes with b) but given that, I don't really see it's a problem. I put together both of my son's gore rider units, and once they are together and painted, you don't tend to notice the little flaws. I even thought the slightly bent weaponry on the riders themselves was totally in keeping with the Orcs!! Those present at the tournament will be able to judge for themselves!

The Wraiths were an absolute dream to put together- nuff said!!

In regard to the injection points, I didn't even bother trying to use a knife for much more than cleaning up, I just clipped those bad boys away with my snips.

I also must confess I didn't pre-wash the pieces before assembly, but I didn't have any of the problems mentioned above. That would lead me to question the brand of superglue used, possibly. I was using Shitadel, which certainly seemed to give me no hassle at all (apart from giving me some serious burns when I managed to spill some on an old 40k Staff T Shirt)

Looking forward to getting my hands on some restic Warpath models (please be the vehicles) and those Revvie Cav! Hopefully even the werewolves(?) will be restic- pweeeeeeeeease?

Eh OH!!!! Good to see you made it over here!!! And for the record, I'll quite happily pit my 1.5k Undead against your Abyssals any time!! Wink
