Title: Another Steel Behemoth
Post by: Maccwar on February 06, 2012, 12:25:11 am
With an idea shamelessly nicked from another Fanatic - here is the steel behemoth for my dwarf army.

Now that's pretty big, and pretty cool!  :o

Where the heck is that model from?

The Dwarf is from GW, I think Battle for Skull Pass.

The model is a "Brass Coffin" from Ramshackle Games. Very cheap for the size of the beast.

With a Chimera Turret.

The model is bigger than I expected - i had hoped to mount it on a GW Chariot base (50x100mm) but it was too big so I had to make a base for it myself.

The Dwarf is just a standard GW multi-part dwarf.

Idea shamelessly stolen from Jonathan Faulkes.

That's a nice big model for only £9. Ramshackle are great, they also do some really good looking goblin artillery.

The behemoth looks cool.

took a look at their site, and like the models their, the badger model is really cool.

do you happen to know how these models scale up to warhammer 40k orks?

and how's the resin like?

Cheers

Some of their models are more or less designed to work with 40k e.g. the Iron Grumbler and the Scrap Tank.

The resin took paint well and was easy enough to assemble with a bit of trimming and cleaning up. Ramshackle's vehicles are all sculpted to look a bit rough and beaten up so any imperfections will just become part of the model. I used two part epoxy glue to put mine together which seemed to work well.

At some point in the future I think I'll puck up some of their dungers to use as Mangler squigs in my orc army.

That's a better turret than mine has.  I found the model fairly easy to put together although some parts don't have keyed locations so you have to glue "by eye".

Is the Steel Behemoth a tank?

Or is this just speculation?

The ramshackle stuff looks cool might work really well with warpath marauders.
