Title: Project Pandora cover and the 8th Race
Post by: Darsc Zacal on January 22, 2012, 09:58:08 am
I'm a bit surprised no-one talking about this here, but BoW have posted a partial cover shot of the upcoming Project Pandora boxed game.

For those unaware this is the Dwarf Kings Hold IN SPACE style of boardgame that will be featuring The Corporation and The 8th Race.

So this is our first peek at the 8th race. Mantic has mentioned Space Gerbils, I've heard Werewolves being mentioned on some forums, surprisingly NOT by gaarew, and of course the ever popular Ratmen IN SPACE.

So what do you guys think of the cover?

Personally, I don't think the artist got the Corporation quite right when compared to what we've been shown of their minis, which leads me to assume that the creatures representing the 8th may not be entirely accurate to the minis either. I'm still going with the giant voracious humanoid Space Gerbils myself.

I assume that the whole "vermynkin" thing means it's a rodent of some sort, though the child in me is hoping that the snout on the right is a more lion-like catmen thing because Warpath + Thundercats....... :o :)

Those creatures appear to be more carnivore than rodent.  Maybe Gaarew is right.

Where is the Scottish bastard anyway?

Haven't seen him on the boards for a couple of weeks now. I'm presuming family and real life are keeping him busy.

So we have ferocious carnivorous vermin things which like to infest spaceships and anything else they can lurk in. Or it sounds like that at least.

Great!

Image found.

Now all I have to do is knock it up (and make it fake somehow) to complete the challenge.

Okay Matt, I found your request a bit strange, but it is now ready for you to post on warseer. :)

Whats with the pickles?

I don't understand the Brits fascination with either Badgers or pickles.  ???

And I'd strongly recommend not "leaking" this to Warseer. Their Admins don't have much of a sense of humour about such things... And then there's the old advice of not burning ones bridges. :-\

I'm not really British despite what my passport tells me but... I do like pickles - not fussed on badgers :P

Wait a minute!, whats the size of that table? 2x4?

That table's for a demo of a skirmish game called Brushfire which features battles between animal races based around historical army ideas.
