2012 for me will involve trying to clear the painting backlog and not buying too much more until there is light at the end of the tunnel.

What I do plan to buy looks almost all Mantic though :)

Hmm, finish um no, just paint a ton more of my undead.

Paint up enough of my imperial guard so I have enough choice to use them as corp troops.

Try not to buy too many minatures  ::)

Empty my "to be stripped" box now I have discovered detol and blu-tac strips paint.

1 = Finish off Undead to 1500pts (10 Skeletons & 15 Zombies & 2 Necromancers)
2 = Finish Elves to 1500pts (Stormwind Cavalry & 2 Bolt Throwers)
3 = 1500 pt Orc army from scratch
4 = 600pt Abyssal Dwarf force.
5 = Paint up Starter Can Armies for Relics

That should keep me busy.

Buy fewer miniatures than I paint.

Paint up enough of my dwarf army to be able to use it.

Well, like usual I'm going to try and buy less than I paint. I've managed this a few years now, but since I hadn't been doing it for quite some time when I started the hobby I always seem to have more minis.

Finish the undead/brettonian army that I started.
Build some(any) sci-fi terrain.

Some stuff Max and I are working on for the podcast :D

Paint more. Buy less.

Last year was pretty ugly, where my purchases outnumbered the minis I painted by more than 6:1. The year before that was even worse.  :-[

2012 will be the year that it all changes.

I will try to paint more than I buy, with the aim of finishing an army by the end of this month. I want to have at least one 1500 point KoW army, a useable Warpath army, a 2500 point Warhammer army and a 1500 point Dark Eldar army all fully painted. I also need to start gaming more frequently again. We need to check back to this in a year and see if we manage to stick with this :)

Not a bad idea, and not too hard to remember on a smaller forum.

I actually have painted more this year than I bought. However I haven't managed a 2:1 ratio, which is really what I need at this point. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who's unpainted minis outnumber the painted. However at the start of this year I think my unbuilt models outnumbered my painted ones.

It took me about 5 years or so to do my skaven army when the new book caused me to loose interest in finishing the last few units(pathetic, but it happens) as it meant i would have to change around a bunch of unit sizes etc.

Once this Brett/undead army is done I think it'll be warpath stuff or quite some time.

I've sold off a lot of my painting backlog, and at the moment just have my dwarf army basecoated (along with an extra 300+ spare dwarfs that are still bare plastic).

I'm starting to think, for KoW, I might just finish up the dwarfs this year, maybe sell off the excess or keep it for extra add-ons. Then maybe an orc army, although I'm kinda torn between them and Perry humans (mantic releasing humans this year would be a very good thing).

Warpath is easy, Corporation and Forgefathers with the upgrade kits that make them look awesome. I think having those 2 armies on the table will be great for demo games which is something I'd also like to try out next year.

my goal is the following:
- Paint 500 points armies for warpath, the corporation and marauders(imperial guard and orks respectively)
- Paint 1000 points of undead
- Paint 1000 points of Dwarfs
- Paint 1000 points of the nurgle lost and the damned(wh40k3rd edition)
maybe in between paint some models for dwarf kings hold

not buy any more miniatures this year

Cheers

Well lets see....

I have given this some thought since finding the wonders of 'Mantic'.  My original plan was to paint armies for 3rd Edition (1980's) 'Warhammer Fantasy Battle' as this was the edition I liked most, and still do.  I had thought I might also try 1st Edition 'Rogue Trader' (also 1980's) armies for sci-fi gaming.  Then I found 'Mantic' miniatures and 'Kings of War'.  Now my plan is...

I will still build/paint some '3rd ed WHFB' armies using the huge number of 'Citadel' miniatures that I have stored away, and unpainted, and flesh these out with 'Mantic' miniatures and possibly some 'Reaper' miniatures.  I like the 'old 1980's Warhammer' too much to turn my back on it.  But I also like 'Kings of War' so much that I will do this as well.  My goal for this year is to finish painting up the figures that I need for the two 'Dwarf Kings Hold' games I own, and then paint up a 'Kings of War' Elves army.  My choice of Elves does strike me as odd because when I found 'Mantic' miniatures it was the only range of their figures that I did not like at all.  But they have slowly grown on me, and now I have got used to them I like them.

Anyway thats it for now.

Lol I don't have too much problem of buying more than I paint. My unpainted still out number my painted,but most of th e unpainted consist of orcs and goblins I could careless about.

Anyways, Goals for the year:
Finish painting my Dwarf army. Miners and cannon. And base and magintize them for the metal bnases I make. Make metal bases for Dwarf army

Finish my ' Anhurian empire army'  5 man unit of x bows, unit of arxhers, two units of knights and two heros. Purchase a few more dwarven units to even iot out with my Anhurian army.

Purchase a small Corp and forgefathers armies to demo WP.

 Play test KOW and WP.
  There are others but their not Mantic stuff so I'll not post them here.
