Mantic Fanatics

Over on Warseer, someone has posted some pics from next months White Dwarf featuring a bunch of new undead mini's. Some of them look meh, some are WTF?!?, but there are a few in there that look quite interesting which I could see making their way into my KoW undead army.

They removed product pictures?  WTF for?   Even unauthorized pictures of upcoming products are specifically protected as journalism in pretty much every country on the planet.

Warseer moderators have brain fungus making them act irrationally.  It's the only explanation.

Thanks for posting the Dakka link, saves me from uploading to photo bucket and linking that back at an inferior picture quality.

As for Warseer... They have a very odd moderation policy. I've not been able to figure it out.

As for the minis, yes their prices are nuts, but I find their undead cavalry interesting... Alhough I already have plenty of Mantics Revenant Knights. Those Manbat creatures are kind of interesting too.

The first post on the Warseer thread has the pictures.

"Minitaures" seem to be getting larger and larger.

So it's one of those strange "pictures must be in their proper place" things like when they closed the mantic picture thread.

I don't quite understand why the scythes have flail heads attached to them.  That would make them terribly ineffective.  Cut those off and those miniatures aren't awful, just expensive.

Is it me, or are the cost of these miniatures a little lower than we've come to expect?

Well, in terms of posting sometimes I honestly do wonder if GW has some unofficial stake in Warseer. It is fairly tightly regulated. Then again the problems with all of these forums is that it's never going to be run the way you'd like or expect unless the person is very similar to you in their way of thinking.

I wasn't too impressed by the line they put out.

Honestly, I think it very odd that GW has still not done some bloody zombies. I mean, I'm never going to buy them as I think the mantic ones are superb, but can they not realise how awful their current core choice is?

Black Knights are the only thing that looks good, and has a reasonably non-insane price.

I do like the coven throne, but not soo sure about the giant bat/ghoul things. I realised I have actually obtained a fairly large stack of mantic undead stuff so I may get mantics £90 undead deal and add the throne and the female vamp as a quick new fantasy army. I feel sorry for new gw only guys starting vc though, the pricing is just rediculous. Oh and I swear mantics revanant knights are significantly nicer than the new black knights.

That's what I'm thinking too. I believe the Perry's  Black Knights are the best of the bunch, and I like 'em... But I think Mantics Revenants Knights are still better, and I have more than enough of them already. I simply don't need more undead cavalry.

I just can't get my head around the whole Mortis etherial engine whatever the hell it is thingy... Maybe if I saw it unpainted I'd be able to grasp the concept a bit better.

The characters don't do it for me at the price being asked for them

I do like the Manbats, although the furry loincloths look kinda silly on them. Still, they're probably what tempts me the most since I can't justify getting the Black Knights.

Wow have you seen some of the prices of the units. £29 for the man bat things, £61.50 for finecast blood knights, £15.50 for a mounted wight king, and £30 for finecast fell bats. Truely insane. How can they expect to sell some of these things? Thank goodness I found Mantic, come the price rises in June I think GW will be getting almost none of money.
