Title: Kings of War Invitational 2
Post by: Andy_B on December 08, 2011, 07:50:17 am
Hi guys,

Just wondered if anyone in the know had more information about the proposed KOW Invitational Tournament thats planned for early next year?

I saw on the Mantic website that if you bought one of there £150 Christmas Army bundles that it included a ticket for the KOW invitational tournament next year.

I've not heard anything other than that but would love to get involved so wondered if any of you knew any more details such as dates or how to be "selected" for the tournament.

Andy....

Odds are gaarew will make a post at some point, same as he did for the last one. :)

If you want to go, then this forum is a good place to be lurking.

I think only the pathfinders know more about it at this stage. I'd like to go too so need to know the dates soon!

Well hopefully we'll get the chance.

On a slightly different note is there much of a tournamnet scene for KOW yet?  I'd like to get into tournamnet playing but dont see many advertised.

The Invitational will be the 18/19th of February, at Maelstrom, and will be Kings of War.

That's all I know for the moment.

There will be a Warpath one later in the year, once more lists are out.

 ;)

GET THE FUCK OUT!

I haven't touched that stuff since I was about 16, and drank 10 or so bottles before moving onto the Spanish Brandy, and almost drowning myself in vomit whilst I slept.

The fact that both my folks had to put me in the bath doesn't exactly make it a cherished memory...

 ;D

You do know it was the Spanish Brandy that caused it don't you??  ;D

Brown Ale never hurt anyone (much!)  :'(

Yeah, nobody who had immunised themselves to it by licking used ashtrays...   :P

Has anyone here actually tasted an ashtray?
I don't mean smoked a cigarette. I mean actually tasted an ashtray?
It is the most foul thing I've ever had the displeasure to taste.

Also, wish I could be going to the warpath tourney. I might just have to run my own over here if I can get the people.

I have this feeling that someone is skipping right past a story...

If by tasted, you mean poured into a half empty pint glass and then drunk, then yes.

The Invitational will be the 18/19th of February, at Maelstrom, and will be Kings of War.

I'd love to go again, I've even started working on some Drakon rider just in case I can get an invite.

Feb 18th...the KoW Invitational over in Nottingham, across an ocean, or Adam Ant in concert up in Chicago, about 5 hours away....hrrrm... it is a tough choice.

Drakon Riders are sweet. Lucy has two of them for me to kill with my undead

18th is good for me.  Perhaps we should all wear name badges with our online names on so we know who is who!

I would be up for this. When do invites and that go out? And when would we have to confirm that we will be there?
EDIT: Also what would the requirements be (army points wise, model restrictions etc)

Someone go and ask Renton on facebook!

Last time out it was 1500 points.

Here's my write-up of the first one.

The ad says 1750, but the geneic tournament rules talk about 1500...  On who knows?

I must admit after a little browse at the rules and people's comments and looking at the minis it does look interesting, not for this tourney but as a game to get into without spending millions. That new goblin bity thingy hearder looks really nice! I'll watch this space...

Hi JesyAmdden - welcome. You should introduce yourself in the new members forum and tell us a bit about yourself and what you play at the moment.
