Title: Alex's Dwarfs Post by: alexh on May 31, 2011, 07:35:37 pm So, I've just finished building my first 1000 points of Dwarfs (with the exception of heroes cos I aint got 'em yet). Here's a few pics.
Army shot (http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww301/alexhadfield/Mantic/PICT0013.jpg) Ironclad Regiment (http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww301/alexhadfield/Mantic/PICT0018.jpg) Ironwatch Troop (http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww301/alexhadfield/Mantic/PICT0019.jpg) Shieldbreakers Regiment (http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww301/alexhadfield/Mantic/PICT0014.jpg) I've got the day off work tomorrow so I'll make a start on painting them and post more pics. ;D Title: Re: Alex's Dwarfs Post by: mattjgilbert on May 31, 2011, 07:59:13 pm Ooooh they look good. Stop tempting me with another army!
I do like having days off to paint. It doesn't happen enough for my liking. I think you should post progress reports and pictures throughout the day :) Title: Re: Alex's Dwarfs Post by: alexh on May 31, 2011, 08:54:13 pm I agree wholeheartedly Matt. I think since you asked so nicely, I will post updates throughout the day. The only problem is, my new patio furniture arrived today and I'll have to build that at some point >:(

(http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww301/alexhadfield/Mantic/PICT0010.jpg) Let me know what you think. Title: Re: Alex's Dwarfs Post by: gaarew on June 01, 2011, 09:50:35 am Looking good so far.
Good luck with the furniture too. I seem to be losing all my painting time to building flatpack furniture myself... Title: Re: Alex's Dwarfs Post by: Robert on June 01, 2011, 02:51:37 pm Looking good, I like the test scheme, very nice indeed.
Title: Re: Alex's Dwarfs Post by: alexh on June 01, 2011, 07:48:54 pm So, today didn't go exactly according to plan (it never bloody does). I did make a start on my first troop of Ironwatch though
(http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww301/alexhadfield/Mantic/PICT0013-1.jpg) and a close up of the unit champion (http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww301/alexhadfield/Mantic/PICT0016.jpg) Just waiting for the devlan mud to dry and then I can get on with highlighting. These WILL be finished tonight and I'll update when they are. Title: Re: Alex's Dwarfs Post by: alexh on June 02, 2011, 09:41:43 pm What did Robert Burns say about the best laid plans? I'm beginning to think he was right. As I'm sure you guessed, I didn't manage to finish the troop of Ironwatch last night (bloody Apprentice). They have progressed slightly today with a bit of highlighting and a start on the faces and beards but nothing really pic worthy yet as I spent most of the day in bed with the worst case of man flu ever (I think it may even be terminal). Normal service will resume as soon as I recover though.
Title: Re: Alex's Dwarfs Post by: mattjgilbert on June 02, 2011, 10:05:10 pm Sometimes these things happen! At least you started though... I've got a pile of zombies staring at me accusingly awaiting paint...
Title: Re: Alex's Dwarfs Post by: alexh on June 06, 2011, 07:43:01 pm Well, Man Flu didn't prove to be terminal and I have finished my first troop of Ironwatch!!
(http://i730.photobucket.com/albums/ww301/alexhadfield/Mantic/PICT0025-1.jpg) I am happy to consider these done for the time being as I will do all of the bases at the end. Next on the desk are a regiment of Ironclads and an Organ Gun. Day off work tomorrow so plan for painting day mkII is nearly underway ::) Title: Re: Alex's Dwarfs Post by: Robert on June 07, 2011, 07:41:39 am That is a fine looking unit! Good work. |
